About the report
In a series of three workshops held in Senegal, South Africa and Ethiopia, the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and SRMGI brought together a wide variety of African stakeholders to introduce and encourage discussion on the topic of solar radiation management governance. In total, the workshops had more than 100 participants from 21 different countries.
The report, Governance of Research on Solar Geoengineering: African Perspectives [PDF], documents the diversity of perspectives and opinions shared by attendees, as well as suggestions for future African engagement with solar geoengineering. In addition, the authors of this report hope that it will serve as a framework for similar work.
